Camping Cocktail Shaker
A Product Design Experience
Challenge
Design a product that solves a real-world problem. I chose to tackle a specific, underserved need: making cocktails outdoors, without the bulk and mess of traditional bar tools.
MArket Definition
At first, I imagined a general-purpose “bartending-to-go” kit. But the scope was too broad, there were too many types of users and use-cases to design for well. I refocused the product toward campers: a clear niche with specific constraints around durability, packability, and ease of use.
PROTOTYPING
Initial sketches explored how to integrate storage and mixing in a compact form. Avoiding mechanical parts became a priority; fewer moving parts meant fewer failure points in rough conditions. The final solution used four individual compartments, each with its own opening for easy access and clean usability.
