This custom-made petty knife was crafted with precision and attention to detail. The high carbon steel bblade was plasma cut, hardened, annealed, and tempered before being carefully ground to form a proper bevel. It was then hand sharpened using whetstones, ensuring a razor-sharp edge built for precise cutting. The handle, made from cherry and walnut wood, was shaped using a bandsaw and belt sander. Then drilled and burned for a snug fitting to the tang. It was finished with a blend of mineral spirits and linseed oil, enhancing durability and natural beauty. Paired with a handcrafted saya, this knife embodies both traditional function and craftsmanship, emphasizing usability and aesthetic appeal.
